Owais Muzaffar Tappi – Zardari Close Man

In the recent few weeks a new name is making lot of news. Owais Muzaffar Tappi is the name and it is making news because Supreme Court of Pakistan asked about it and served notices to Owais Muzaffar “Tappi” and Revenue Senior Member Shazar Shamon in February 2013 in Karachi unrest case.

According to media reports Tappi is a very close to President Asif Ali Zardari and is also a key player in the Lyari gang war. During the proceeding of case in February 2013 Justice Sarmad Usmani remarked, “Who is this Tappi and why has no one filed an FIR against him yet?”

The petitioner said at that time during the case hearing that Tappi was involved in selling lands illegally and over 150 cases stood registered against Tappi, Shazar Shamon for causing billion of rupees loss to national exchequer.

Now Owais Muzaffar Hashmi, alias Tappi is contesting elections from PS-88 constituency and during the scrutiny process he was Returning Officer (RO) asked how many prayers are offered in a day and the number of Farz rakats in each prayer.

Tappi who is said to be Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) next Chief Minister of Sindh replied all the questions and also swore under oath that he owned no property in Pakistan.
