Pakistan Steel Mills (Pipri) Karachi

This mill was established with the technical and financial aid of Soviet Union. Its 90% work was completed by 1999.
 By its completion Pakistan is getting help for solid progress in her economy technically as well industrially.
 Its production capacity is 1.1 million tons steel annually which can be increased to 2 million tons.

The steel manufacturing plant is installed to an area of 18,600 acres (about 29 square miles). In its construction 367 machinery steel frames and electricity equipment has been used.
In its construction 40 thousand technicians and labourers took part.
Its productive capacity for the various products is as follows.

This is the largest heavy engineering project of Pakistan which is helping in the economic development of Pakistan to a great extent.

Heavy Mechanical Complex Taxila

It is a large complex built with technical and financial help of People of Republic of China which was established in 1968.
On its construction 616 million rupees were spent.
Its annual (foundry) capacity is 60,000 ton iron products.
Its products include Railway locomotives, Sugar plants, Trucks/ Lorries and their spare parts, Flour Mills, Lathe machines etc.
By its establishment lots of foreign exchange for imports has been saved.
