Parachute Is Made For Emergency Landing, Why Don’t Airlines Use It?

If parachute is made for emergency landing, why don’t people use it while plane indicates any condition of emergency?

Passenger planes don’t have parachutes. Only for crew (Not sure about PIA) but not for passengers. Because they are expensive & passengers don’t know how to handle them.

I have seen so many incidents like that but never heard that anyone got saved due to parachute.

Passenger planes don’t have parachutes. they only have life jackets which can only be used in case of crash landing in a sea.

You cannot simply glide down a parachute it requires physical strength and training, the impact of a para drop can crush your spines and you’d live a life a worse than death, also in an aircraft spiraling out of control in an emergency, para dropping 50 untrained and distressful people including old, sick, women, children and disabled isn’t simply possible.

It’s not as easy as it sounds. You need training, core strength to use the damn thing. And no commercial airline provides parachutes.

Everybody seems to be sticking over the point that no airline outside as well provide the parachute. Ok that’s fine but mi        nd you all, those are airlines they take you to your destination and not to heaven. The very idea of parachute in these PIA, Air Blue etc is to at least have something in cases of emergency so as to have a little bit of survival chance for their passengers.

One of the reason why parachutes are not kept in the plane is that God forbid if such a situation arises, the Pilot will be the first to jump from the plane. Thats why the Captain tries his very best to save the aircraft till the very end. When its a question of Preservation of One`s life, humans will almost always try to save themselves first, that being said, only a select few will be SELFLESS.
