PEPSI New Commercial on T20 Cup Stopped on Junaid Jamshed Request

Junaid jamshedKarachi: Sindh high court has stopped Beverage Company for the new PEPSI T20 World Cup commercial which is replica of the National song “Dil Dil Pakistan “. On the request of the well-known previous singer Junaid Jamshed court has ordered to stop this commercial, news reportedly.

Junaid Jamshed has taken a stand by mentioning Beverage Company, Pakistan Broadcasting Association and PEMRA in his application that his band “Vital Signs” has introduced “Dil Dil Pakistan” in 1987. Recently it has been introduced a commercial for the World Cup T20 in Bangladesh which is the replica of famous National song “Dil Dil Pakistan” and it is on air at many TV channels.

Junaid Jamshed added that defendants has not taken any permission and not even asked any advice from Vital Signs as this national song is related to us. By broadcasting this commercial without any permission is totally disobeying of the copy rights. He has appealed to stop this commercial and to respondents should be ordered to pay 1 Crore rupees as a compensation.

In this regard, Beverage Company has replied to court that the agreement was decided between EMI Pakistan Limited and Vital Signs for broadcasting of this national song. That’s why NOC has been received from the EMI Pakistan Limited. Court has ordered to stop this commercial until 28 March.

As global sponsors of the ICC World Twenty20, 2014 in Bangladesh, PEPSI’S latest television commercial brought their world cup team featuring Ayesha Omar, Pakistani cricketers like Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Ahmed Shahzad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and others.
