PML-N Marvi Memon Is Also Among Suspected Tax Defaulters?

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has revealed Tax declaration details of candidates of election 2013. The FBR provided yearly declared income and tax payments of each candidate. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate from NA-237 (Thatta-I) Marvi Memon is strong candidate but her documents are not much strong. Former PML-Q member didn’t pay tax last year, FBR report says. According to NTN Number details, Marvi didn’t disclose her declared income of 2012 and she didn’t paid tax of same year.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) details summary of Marvi Memon as follows. She declared earning of 2010, 2011 and 2012 are 2,031,824, 2,114,064 and Zero respectively. On other hand her tax payment of same years are 33,827, 43,969 and zero in the order given. There are many same examples in other parties like PTI Ayla Malik Tax gossip was also spread on media.

Though Marvi Memon has good public profile, she will face tough time for NA-237 contest. The Previous ruling parties Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has strong following in this area. PML-N has tried to convince nationalist parties of Sindh for support but no seat adjustment has been finalized on this seat. On other hand, Dr. Abdul Wahid Soomro and Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Sheerazi are leading competitors of Marvi.

Many citizens showed concern that ECP is showing Tax details of last three years only and it should show 5 years tax stats.
