Renewing Old CNIC Biggest Problem in Karachi

So, in order to renew my old CNIC I have to proof that my father migrated to Pakistan before 1978 and as a proof they need their very first NIC. I was able to produce NIC but it was made in 1982. I am unable to understand what it has to do with the process since I was born and raised in same country. I had citizenship for more than 10 years. I am Pakistani by birth but I think this is not enough for NADRA. Is there anyone who faced the same difficulty?

I know a guy who is unable to renew his ID card because of same issue.

This is pure non sense. Why did you issue NIC for the first time? Ok now you are verifying things. Ok Good. Isn’t enough that I was born in Pakistan. Never left country, been here for 30 years now. Totally pathetic.

You aren’t alone. I know plenty of people who still couldn’t renew their CNIC just because of their ridiculous reasons.

Matric certificate of your father may also help you. I also had same issue and they accept my father’s matric certificate of 1978.

The main point is NADRA created Id once they must have everything in their record; it’s not people responsibility to keep these documents always for their grand children.

Pakistan is only 70 years old. Some people’s parents were born before Pakistan existed. Your argument is valid. But, NADRA’S current system is pretty messed up and quite unfair for the common citizen.

A bunch of Bengalis, who stayed in Pakistan still haven’t gotten their CNIC’s made. Shameful. They have been here since 1947, born and struggled for this country and yet they haven’t been made Pakistani citizens. Don’t you think this is shameful? I can direct you to certain areas in Karachi, where the majority of people with all sorts of backgrounds face such issues just because they’re common citizens without any ‘contacts’.

I’m in the same boat as NADRA has blocked CNIC of my father b/coz He couldn’t born in Pakistan in 1942 ðŸ™‚. As a result, none of our family member can renew their CNICs b/coz the CNIC of family head is in data verification process. My father migrated to Pakistan in 1950 and luckily he has kept every record with him since then but no luck. I’ve submitted all his documents multiple times during last 2 years since his admission in P-III in 1951, his domicile issued in 1960, his Matriculation, his old NIC issued in 1973, his parents’ old NICs etc but still waiting for data verification to complete. It hurts that they have no sense and blocked the CNIC of 75 years old citizen who has been in Pakistan with all proofs of hi stay for last 67 years.

Unfortunately it’s for Karachi mostly. In other cities or regions they don’t have such stupid verifications.
