Saudi Arabia To Built Islamic Centre In Afghanistan

I read news that Saudi Arabia will build a massive Islamic centre in Kabul, Afghanistan. The Islamic centre will have a university and a big mosque. The cost of the project will be around 100000 US Dollars.

The Islamic centre which will be located in central Kabul will have 5000 students. The mosque will be similar to Faisal Mosque in Islamabad. Faisal Mosque was also built by Saudi Arabia in 1980s. It is expected that construction of Islamic centre will start from 2013.

It is good to see that oil rich Saudi Arabia will be building this centre. In the recent years Saudi Prince and sheikhs of the Emirates have mostly invested billion dollars in buildings. This type of Islamic centers helps in educating people unlike buildings which only attracts tourists.
