Senate of Pakistan Becomes House of Federation

Islamabad: Senate of Pakistan has become House of Federation as change in the name has been approved by senators on Wednesday with the thought the Senate is called to be the sign of Federation. According To the details, Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani told to all the members of the upper house that the idea of changing the name of Senate as House of Federation was highly endorsed by representatives of all the parties.

Chairman Raza Rabbani also said that it is necessary to take votes from the house in order to make new name of Senate as official name of the upper house. However the idea was approved on 4^th May during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.

The senate of Pakistan was formed in the year 1973 with the aim to provide equal representation among all four federating units as it is impossible to make any new legislation active, if not approved by both house of the parliament. It is pertinent to mention that Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani has also passed a resolution against publishing of blasphemous cartoons in the United States (U.S.).
