Shafqat Hussain Will Execute On May 6

Karachi: Anti-terrorism Court has issued death warrant to criminal Shafqat Hussain as murderer will be executed on May 6. According to the details, Anti-terrorism court has issued death warrant of the criminal at the request of the Department of Interior. Earlier on the orders of government, the execution of Shafqat Hussain was stopped.

However, the execution process of Shafqat Hussain was delayed due to age determination as after the age determination of him by Medical Board, court passed order of his execution. It is pertinent to mention that criminal Shafqat Hussain filed a petition for judicial inquiry in order to verify his age as dissatisfaction was expressed on the investigation of FIA (Federal Investigation Agency). On the other hand, it was also stated in the application that court also order inquiry for violence along with the age determination.

President Mamnoon Hussain rejected the mercy petition of Shafqat Hussain on 18^th March while execution was suspended for 30 days due to the determination of the age. It is important to recall that Shafqat Hussain killed 5 year old boy in 2001 on which he was sentenced to death in 2004 by Anti-terrorism court.
