It is reported that Pakistan Cricket Team Player Sohaib Maqsood was also staying in the hotel when the fire broke out. It is being said he saved a family from the fire and was himself affected by the fire. Many foreigners were also among the casualties.
The main injuries were caused by the suffocation because of the centralized cooling system which spread all over the building within minutes of the fire.
It is said that the fire started at the kitchen which soon spread all over the ground floor blocking the way out for those in the upper floors.
