United Nations Organisation Constitution

The United Nations Organisation is founded on these basic principles:

  • All member-States are equal and sovereign.
  • All are pledged to fulfil their obligations under the Charter in good faith.
  • All are pledged to settle their international disputes by peaceful means.

In its international relations no member shall use or threaten to use force against the territory and independence of any State or behave in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations.

All are-pledged to give every assistance to the United Nations when, in accordance with the Charter, it takes any action, and also not to give assistance to any State against which the United Nations is taking action to preserve or restore peace.
The United Nations shall not interfere in the internal matters of any State-except when it is acting to enforce international peace.
Keeping in view these aims and principles, the membership of the United Nations is open to peace-loving States which accept the obligations of the Charter mentioned above.
