Wall chalking, Aerial Firing, Singing Songs Banned in Peshawar

Peshawar: Owing to the security threats in the holy month of Muharram article 144 has been imposed in the provincial capital. Deputy Commissioner in this regard has stated ban on wall chalking, air firing, buying and selling of acid or diesel. However, restriction has also been imposed on the migration and activities of Afghanis during the period.

The deputy commissioner stated that in order to make the security measures full proof, article 144 as per the law has been imposed in the city. He has said that actions would be taken for those found to be involved in walk chalking at Masjids and Imam Bargah’s walls.

According to the official administration, ban has been imposed on singings songs from 5-10 Muharram while pillion riding would also face restriction from 7-10 Th of Muharram.

With the death of the Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud, chances of terrorists’ attacks have increased.

In accordance, loudspeakers shall be used for saying Jummah congregational prayers and calling for Azan.

Every year, incidents of bomb blasts, fire crackers are reported. Hundreds of people usually fall victim to the accidents. Despite the assurance of strict security measure by the high administering officials, a lapse causes peace instability.
