The price of winter clothing items like sweater, jacket, muffler and have registered a sharp increase around 80 percent high from last year in Hyderabad. Due to many reasons like foreign exchange differences, high import duties, increase in transportation cost.
Majority of people are going towards used cloth market due to high inflation rate. The temperature is declining from last few days that’s why hot cloth demand is increasing.
Many markets are established in different parts of Hyderabad like Cantt, Rasham Ghali, Kohnoor, Tower Market, New Pali, Goddo Chowk and Qasimabad for hot clothes.
- Imported sweater price range between 1200 to 1500 rupees
- Imported leather jacket prices between 2500 to 3000 rupees
- Local manufactured sweater price between 500 to 600 rupees
- Local jacket price between 1000 to 1300 rupees
- Local coat price in between 500 to 600 rupees
Imported and branded clothing items demand has reduced by 70 percent. On the other hand local manufactured and second hand clothing items is increasing in Hyderabad.
Opinion
Sindh Government should realize why public is going toward used cloth market. They should make plan for the citizen of Hyderabad. Government should motivate and provide benefits to businessmen. So that they could take interest and establish hot cloth industries. As well as create new jobs for public.
