This small scale industry is functioning in Hala (Sindh) and Chiniot (Punjab). In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa walnut and chiner wood is available in a large quantity so in Peshawar, Hazara, Kohat and Swat this industry has been largely developed.
In Havelian (near Peshawar) handicrafts development centres have been set up with the aid of West Germany where different kinds of woolen products are manufactured.
Training facilities to workers are provided in the aforesaid centres. In Pakistan we have small number of forests still in Karachi and Lahore etc there are furniture making factories which use the wood obtained by salvage of broken ships.
