Oslo, Islamabad: The singer cum politician Abrar ul Haq, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member is reported to have stayed in Norway, asking the high political officials of the country to end drone strikes, sources have learnt.
Abrar in a telephonic conversation to one of the channels said that he had been called upon by one of the associations that oppose the drone strikes in Pakistan. He said that he had been called to give away speech in one of the meetings organized by the Anti-drone Norway body.
On the occasion, the social worker talked that how the drone strikes are cultivating hatred among the people against the U.S. He said that strikes violate the country’s peace, thereby violating the sovereignty and the international law.
Abrar spoke of addressing the issue to the Norway President and the Foreign Minister through the PTI platform. He said that the Prime Minister shall have been the one to take such initiatives, but PTI being a responsible governing body they took the step.
The PTI member said that the present government needs to revisit the foreign policy f the country. He said that the religious sanctions are perceived to be Muslims by the non-Muslims. Need is to cultivate and inform them, that they are not the Muslims, but terrorists whom we disown.
For past 8 years, Pakistan has had been addressing the drone strike issue at international level but no productive results have yet been revealed.
However, efforts to end the ‘stereotype’ of Muslims and terrorists is the primary key to ending the deadly attacks that has had killed innumerable people over the decade.
