Ashtar Ausaf Ali Brief Biography

Ashtar Ausaf AliAshtar Ausaf Ali is the name of the Pakistani lawyer who has been appointed as special assistant for law of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recently. He has been related to Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz in some manner since 1997 as he become advisor on Human Rights to Nawaz Sharif in the same year. After which he started to work as Advocate General of Punjab as he has worked on the same post for two times in 1998 to 1999 and 2012 to 2013.

The 58-years old lawyer resigned from the post of Advocate General in 1999 when PML-N got defeated in a military coup by Pervez Musharraf. Moreover he also worked as Prosecutor General of the Punjab from September 2011 – 2 January 2012. He gained much success as a litigator and constitutional lawyer during 1990s and also played vital role during constitutional interpretation in 1990.

Advocate Ashtar Ausaf received his Bachelor degree in Arts in 1975 from Forman Christian College and then he completed his LLB from Punjab University in 1980 and also became a member of the Lahore Bar Association in the same year. He worked as assistant lecturer for International law in the same university for four years. Judge Iftikhar Ali Sheikh is the father of Ashtar Ausaf Ali who was born on June 19, 1956 in Lahore.
