How Can Pakistan Live With US Aid?

Once again Government of Pakistan has increased the prices of petroleum prices. The question in my mind comes is that how can this government anger US by closing NATO supplies.  This democratic government of Pakistan is unable to sustain the burden of high prices of oil in international market and it directly transfers it to people. So how it is possible to close NATO supplies for a long times.

If NATO supplies will not be restored than it is expected that US government will not release aid. So when we are only relying on aids than how it is possible for a government to take tough stance against those countries which are also giving us aid.
