After having a tight security at Imambargah, terrorists entered in Imamia Masjid by crossing the wall of Imambargah which is located in the Hayatabad Phase V area and did a suicide attack at Imambargah during prayers. With respect to the sources, there were three attackers, one of them opened fire and thrown two hand grenades in Imaabargah while two of them were suicide bombers who blew themselves during Friday’s prayers. However these terrorists came in car which they set on fire after reaching their targeted destination as car had Lahore’s number plate, according to officials.
According to the bomb disposal squad, 15 to 18 kg explosive material have been found in the jackets of suicide bombers. It is pertinent to mention that one bodies of suicide bombers and three hand grenades were also recovered during search operation which was conducted immediately by security forces in order to clarify the affected area. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government and other leaders condemned this second saddest incident of Peshawar while Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and Chief Minister KPK, Pervez Khattak were about to visit at the scene but could not make their appearances due to security reasons.
