However the project was started with the aim to enlarge the present airport of Multan in order to make direct international and cargo flights from Multan with the help of large aircrafts. On the other hand, government also paid attention on making international terminal in Multan so that exports of fruits, especially mango can improve as cargo compound has built with the storing capacity of 10,000 tons for the protection of fresh vegetables and fruits. While two lounges have also been built for domestic and International passengers at the airport.
Nawaz Sharif lauded the progressive work for the betterment of the international airport and also named Multan International Airport as one of the best airport in the country.PM also directed to the officials to keep the high maintenance so that no one could face any kind of difficulties and make every effort to provide Multan’s residents fast and modern travelling facility.
