Judicial Commission Seeks Explanation From MQM and PML-N

Nasir Ul MulkIslamabad: Judicial Commission which was establish to investigate alleged rigging in last general election 2013 has summoned Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on 25th April as blame of rigging was imposed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).

According To the details, the three- member commission under the presidency of Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk has ordered to the authorities of Election Commission to secure all documents relating to the election. The instruction of saving documents was came out when PTI’s lawyer Abdul Hafeez Pirzada expressed his concern of losing important documents related to elections. However Commission has given deadline to all relevant parties to submit witnesses, evidence and other material regarding rigging during the hearing.

On the other hand, Commission also made clear that only those witnesses will be called whom they consider as important as well as Commission also directed to all parties to help for the further inquiry. The commission’s next meeting will be held on Monday. It is to remember that the decision of formation of judicial commission was taken in peace talks between the government team and PTI under presidency of Ishaq Dar.

According to Ishaq Dar, the Commission will complete its investigation in 45 days while during the last meeting, commission told that investigation report will made common soon after its completion.
