Judicial System for overseas Pakistanis to be setup by Government

Fawad Chaudry in the recent press conference announced that the government has decided to set up a separate judicial system for overseas Pakistanis.

Chaudry who is Federal Minister for Information and broadcasting, addressed a press conference after a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad.

“We [cabinet] have given approval for a separate judicial system for overseas Pakistanis, continuing our tradition to think about and work for their benefit,” he said. Moreover, he added that for cases of overseas Pakistanis, summary trials would be undertaken under this system.

Chaudry said that the implementation act for this system in the capital city Islamabad will be considered first and therefore, it has been sent to the Council of Common Interests.

Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be next to follow and adopt the same law.

The Minister further added that the same system will be implemented in many places where PTI government ruled including Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

In the light of this, he said that for every citizen these trials are important and right for them. He acknowledged overseas Pakistanis as they have less time to stay that is why the act is implemented for them.

“But overseas Pakistanis come from abroad … They can’t stay here for long and so this has been done for them,” he explained.
