Living The High Life – Satellite Town, Rawalpindi

A suburban neighborhood of Rawalpindi, Satellite Town is one of the city’s oldest residential areas, easily accessible via Saidpur and Murree Roads. A serene neighborhood. . . Home to affluent diplomats and expatriates, Satellite Town is one of Rawalpindi’s most coveted neighborhoods, with wide, tree-lined roads and large houses with perfectly manicured lawns. A significant number of these houses, especially those located along main thoroughfares, are increasingly being used for commercial purposes. Residents have access to amenities such as banks, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, mosques, parks and salons.

A treat for shopaholics. . . The satellite Town Bazaar, located in the center of the neighborhood, forms its commercial spine. It is well-known for high-end clothing boutiques, a home store – with a wide variety of curtains, carpets and light fixtures – as well as stores dealing in shoes, handbags and handicrafts, and several grocery stores that have been established recently. Desi delights such chanaa chaat and pani puri can be found at the Bazaar’s Refreshment Center; fast food options include Broadway Pizza, Chicken Hut, KFC and Pizza Hut. People with a sweet tooth should make it a point to stop at Tehzeeb Bakers, known for it cakes and brownies, or enjoy flavored yoghurts at Tutti Frutti.
The real estate take. . . Divided into six blocks (A-F), Satellite Town is a well-planned residential area and one of the  Rawalpindi’s most expensive. Property is therefore in high demand; property prices and rentals have appreciated by 32% respectively in the last five years.
