MQM Mohammed Anwar Brief Profile

Mohammad AnwarA senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Mohammad Anwar is serving as a senior member of coordination committee of MQM in London and has represented MQM at major forums. He is known as a major member of MQM who is very close to the MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain. Mr. Anwar is a chartered accountant by profession and was born in 1951 in Dhaka.

Mohammad Anwar was remained very active in creation of MQM’s international secretariat in London at the time when MQM’s chief left for London 23 years ago. He played vital role in order to highlight atrocities against Muhajirs which was emerging in the name of Karachi operation during 1990s. Mr. Anwar also helped MQM to take the position of Sindh governor through his successful negotiations with the military in the period of Gen Pervez Musharraf.

However MQM’s leader was dismissed from the coordination committee but later he also got involved in it once again. Few months ago, Mohammad Anwar got hospitalized due to serious illness as he has not recovered yet completely from his illness.  Recently MQM’s senior leader got arrested by London Metropolitan Police in money laundering case for investigation but after 8 hours of interrogation, he was released on bail.
