Karachi: The main member of the Muttahida Quami Movement election cell committee Umair Hassan Siddiqui has been arrested by the Rangers in Karachi near MQM center’s Nine Zero Azizabad No. 8. According to the statement of MQM, Rabita Committee condemned the arrest of Umair Hassan Siddiqui. Son of Abdul Sami Siddiqui.
Rabita Committee said that Umair Hassan has arrested from his temporary residency near Azizabad No. 8 and mobile phones, laptops and other equipment which were under used in Umair Hassan were also seized by rangers during raid. Umair Hassan Siddiqui is still missing and being provided no information to his family or any official of the party about his detention, Rabita Committee added.
The Rabita Committee further said several workers of the MQM has been arrested for no reason and got involved in false cases after arrest. They demanded to Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ibad Khan, CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice regarding unjustified arrest of Umair Hassan. It is pertinent to mention that last week MQM sector in charge Rafiq Rajput was arrested from Mehmoodabad by rangers as well as court also ordered for a 90-day remand of him.
