Observing Hijab And Naqab Restricted In Birmingham College – Ban Lifted

London: In the Britain city of London, restriction has been imposed by the government over the observance of Islamic veil Naqab and Hijab for Muslim women. Administration of the Metropolitan College in Birmingham has imposed this restriction for its Muslim women. However after pressure from public now the law has been  abandoned.

Presenting reasons to take such decision the management said that taking such step was necessary to avoid other students from anxiety or security threats they may face. ‘We have proposed the decision so that identification of the students become easy’, explained the administration official.

However strong oppositions were witnessed by the Birmingham based Muslims after the announcement. On the other hand, British Parliamentarian Philip Hollobone defending the college decision said that only Muslims are not confined to the restriction. Students are also restricted to wear hoodies and caps during the premises, he said.

The increasing birth and immigration rate in Britain is to contribute much to the growing population of Muslims. A forecast states the Britain Muslim population to get more than that in Kuwait. News published had revealed that Muslims are more practicing to their religion than the Christians and other religion followers. Muslims across the globe are strict about their religious obligations. The notion developed about Muslims as terrorists stands as hurdle in their way of practicing.

Update: The ban imposed was abandoned after a public outcry.
