PM Nawaz Sharif To Throw Farewell For President On 5 th September

nawaz-zardariIslamabad: Following week farewell event would be organized by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the opposition parliamentarian leaders for the President, Asif Ali Zardari. The President too will throw a party for the federal members and the prime minister.

The ceremonial event will be given for completing the five-year tenure as being the first elected democratic president in the history of Pakistan. On 8th of September the presidency would be taken over by Mamnoon Hussain, member of PML-N who had been elected on 30th July for the position. No political parties or the high officials had asked Zardari to quit after the election of the new president.

It is pertinent here to mention that the ‘unwanted-president’ luckily had swept and completed his five years of presidency creating history in Pakistan politics.

None of presidents have had been given lunch-on dinner or attend any ceremonial function for their services. Iskander Mirza, Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, Zia-ul-Haq, Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Pervez Musharraf  either were booted out of office, faced agitation forcing them to call for the day while Zia-ul-Haq died in the plane crash.

[alert style=”white”] Zardari had been charged in three of the cases but the constitutional immunity enjoyed by him prevents him to be accountable, however his fate would be decided later. [/alert]
