PTI Wants Jamaat e Islami Support in Presidential Elections

arif alvi in jamaat officeKarachi: A delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by its Central Secretary General and MNA Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday met with the Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti at Idara-e-Noor Haq.  The PTI delegation comprised President Sindh Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari, MPA Hafeezuddin and others.

In the meeting, the situation after the general elections 2013 was discussed and the leaders of both the parties were of the view that the massive rigging was reported in the recent elections. Talking to media, the leaders of both the parties reiterated their demand about reelection in Karachi under army supervision, so that the people of the city can use their right to vote independently.

They further said that the provincial government has completely failed to restore peace in the city, adding that the extortion chits are being distributed freely.

Leghari told JI Karachi Chief that the PTI has finalized the name of Justice (Retd) Wajihuddin for the presidential candidate and appealed the JI leadership that it supports the PTI candidate in presidential elections.

Meanwhile, Mehanti informed the media that JI Chief Syed Munawar Hasan after party consensus will decide about the presidential elections. In the meeting, JI leaders including Asadullah Bhutto, Barjees Ahmed, Raja Arif Sultan, Muslim Pervez, Javed Ahmed Khan, Secretary Information Zahid Askari and others were also present on the occasion.
