Rashid Malik Named Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) Chief

Rashid MalikKarachi: Rashid Malik has become the new vice president of Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) after the death former SOA president and Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah. According to the details, a general body meeting of SAO held on Saturday at the Karachi Gymkhana in which the decision has approved.

After the death of former SOA president and Sindh Sports Minister Dr Mohammad Ali Shah, it is decided to position Rashid Malik at the place of Dr Shah. Rashid Malik who is also working as president of the Pakistan Basketball Federation addressed to a meeting of SOA in which he thanked general body for trusting him and give him chance to serve as chief of SOA for the remaining one-year period. He also promised to restart sports events in the city and the province as well. During his address, Rashid Malik also requested the associations to give their relevant plans for the sports activities after which he can bring sports related programs.

At the end, associate secretary Engr Syed Mahfooz-ul-Haq, Raziq Rabbani and consultant of the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) also spoke to the meeting and congratulated to the new president of SOA while expressing hope that SOA, SSB and the provincial sports department will raise the sports activities together.

The decision for the new president of SOA was first affirmed by the previous executive committee meeting and then confirmation was come across from the house in this regard.
