Shaukat Aziz As Prime Minister

Mr. Shaukat Aziz won by-election on his way to officially becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan. President General Pervaiz Musharaf administered the oath to new Prime Minister at the Aiwan-e-Sadar on August 28, 2004. As a number of ruling Muslim League and finance minister he is credited with Pakistan’s financial revival.

Under Aziz’s policies, foreign investment, stock market and foreign reserves have sky rocketed. It was expected that Shaukat Aziz will encourage progressive thinking in the government leading to prosperity and elimination of poverty.

Pakistanis have high expectation from Mr. Aziz and anticipate that he will work actively in solving the domestic insecurity, extremism, honour-killing and better education for masses just like he worked on reforming our economy as Finance Minister.
