Situation of Thar Desert, Animals, Livestock Getting Worse

Clean drinking water is not available for the people of Thar. The people of these areas are facing too many problems like aridity, shortage of water and food.

It is one the 17th largest desert in the world and  world’s 9th largest subtropical desert.  85% of Thar area is in India and remaining part in Pakistan. It is between Pakistan and India border. Due to shortage of rainfall in this desert and villages many water well has now dried. They have no option to take water from well or store rain water. Sindh government is not giving any attention to resolve their problems.

It also seems that social organizations are more focused to cities and ignoring villages regarding development work due to big investment.

In Thar district many people died every month due to scarce of water, food and other problems. But concerned department have deliberately closed their eyes from these problems.

Locals say around 25 percent of the sheep population has perished from last years till now. Animals have also died because of this worse situation. People living in Thar believes that if animals are died at this faster pace entire province may face shortage of milk and meat.

The citizen of Thar is appealing to Sindh government to resolve their problems and provide a sigh of relief.
