Dr. Abdul Malik is one of the influential politicians of Balochistan who is loved by large number of people due to his way of leadership and positivie attitude. He is also recognized as founder of nationalist political party named as Balochistan National Movement which formed in 1981.He became Provincial Education minister in 1993 after winning Balochistan National Assembly seat. After which he also elected as Provincial Health Minister in the government of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and worked as health minister from 1988-1990.
On the other hand, also served as a member of several standing committees of Senate such as Standing Committee on Minorities Affairs, Standing Committee on Ports and Shipping and ‘Standing Committee on Food and Agriculture. He also elected as senator in 2006 and served on this till 2012.Moreover, he also became President of National Party in the general elections of 2008.

Chief Minister Abdul Malik enjoys good relationship with the Federal Government as he has received various companies in the name of Baloch government from federal government. He is used to endorse peace talks with militants in Balochistan in order to decrease violence and targeted killings. Meanwhile he has also played vital role in the improvement of infrastructure of Balochistan as well as in the construction of electricity in the province.
Mr. Abdul Malik is Ophthalmology specialized by profession as he completed his doctorate from Bolan Medical College Quetta. He completed his intermediate from Ata Shad Degree College, Turbat and matriculation from a local school in Turbat. He belongs from hoot tribe of Southern Balochistan of Pakistan and was born in Turbat on 15th January in 1958. He is the son of Haji Abdul Salam.
